Another great book in The Jane Austen Diaries!

Kathryn over at Clean Teen Fiction received Pride & Popularity and Northanger Alibi on Tuesday. By Sunday, she'd finished both! So if you're going to pick up Pride & Popularity and Northanger Alibi, make sure you've got time to finish it.

Kathryn said of Northanger Alibi, "Super fun to read and very funny. . .  I can see where Claire is coming from when she gets wrapped up in her fictional world."

Kathryn's review of  Pride & Popularity was another that needed to be shared in it's entirety!

"I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this book for review. When it came in the mail yesterday I paused the book I had been reading to start this immediately. Once my kids were in bed at 7:30 last night I started reading Pride and Popularity and couldn't put it down! I stayed up until 1:30 in the morning to finish. I've never been happier to lose sleep. I was still happy this morning. You can't help but be happy when reading this feel good book. Thank you Jenni for the fun night!

I know I've said this before, but let me remind you. I love retellings! There is something peaceful and relaxing about knowing how a book will end but not knowing how it will get there. I love Jane Austen books and her characters. Before I began reading I knew I would love the "Elizabeth" and "Darcy" characters, and I was right. Chloe and Taylor are so fun!

The chemistry between Chloe and Taylor is amazing! Don't worry, it wasn't steamy or anything. :) I loved every scene with Chloe and Taylor whether they were hating or loving each other. The tension was so great. Chloe was fiery, prideful, and afraid of getting hurt. She surprised and mesmerized Taylor. I don't think I'll say any more about how these two change throughout the book; I'll let you read and find out for yourself.

This was a fun, light, clean read that I loved! If you're in the mood for a light-hearted fiesty romance go read this book!"

Northanger Alibi-Sassy, Sweet, reVAMPED modernization

There's so much to love about this review from Ya-sisterhood.  That I just need to post it in it's entirety. But that shouldn't stop you from checking out the YA-sisterhood blog!

What a great idea for a cute, little contemporary novel!  Several years back when Baby Sister Britt finally talked me into reading Twilight, you might say I did a few, sort of crazy things, per say.  Apparently, everytime I saw saw a silver volvo cruising around town, I would speed up and peer inside in hopes of the possiblity that Edward Cullen might be driving that car!  My memory is a little hazy from this time period, I protest, but there is a slight chance that I do remember doing this!  Is there a chance that this happens often and not just looking for Edward Cullen?  Yes, I would say probably so!   Which is why I completely adored Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey.  I can completely relate to Catherine Morland!  How many times do I not heed Jane Austen's warning and completely blur the lines between fantasy and reality?  Isn't the world just a little bit more fun if there is a chance that your vampire soul mate is living in the Northwest just waiting for you to stumble into his life, or that there is a Shadowhunter somewhere in New York or Victorian England not even realizing what he's missing?  If you find yourself saying "YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES!" then this is the book for you, and you will be kicking yourself that you didn't think of this idea first!

Northanger Alibi is an adorable, quick, feel good read that will leave you laughing and in hopes for another Jenni James novel!  It's the perfect read if you are looking for something light and different from the YA paranormal world.  If you are a fan of Jane Austen and Twilight then you will be delighted by this twist on these 2 popular novels.  The boys are definetly swoon-worthy, the dialogue is side-tickling and trouble Claire finds herself in keeps you coming back for more!  You can also feel safe to let even your middle grader read this!  I have Pride & Popularity also by Jenni James coming up on my list soon, so stay tuned for a review of that one also!  I think we will be seeing a lot more of Jenni James in the future!

First review of Northanger Alibi by Heather at Fire and Ice

Heather over at Fire and Ice gave Northanger Alibi it's first review! And we couldn't be more excited!

Heather described Northanger Alibi as fun, laugh-out-loud, favorite, adored, 4 stars, and recommend.

"I am adoring the Jane Austen Diaries series as a fun, clean choice for tweens and teens. . .  I would recommend Northanger Alibi to all readers, and think it will especially appeal to middle grade and younger teens. If you haven't read the first in the series, Pride & Popularity I would go pick it up, since it was one of my favorite reads of this year. This, book two is a stand alone so you won't be lost without book one."

Doesn't that make you just want to pick up Northanger Alibi? Read what else Heather has to say about Northanger Alibi here.  Don't forget to read her review of Pride & Popularity and why she thought it was one of the best book she read last year.
